Aspens
My favorite tree of the west. They grow at a high elevation. The trunks are super cool and the leaves in the fall, I just love. I actually bought a print in 2022 when we stopped through Cody Wyoming. S & J
Opening in the Mountain
This was just an opening in the mountain. Closest we were to it. Kind of like the colors that caught our eyes when we came through Cortez, this was just a closer view. I did see two Elk along the train ride, they were huge!! S&J
Anamis River
Another view of the river , not so high from it. They went one section of this track that was so high, the train slowed to a crawl. You jump the tracks you are toast. And just look at those beautiful trees! S & J
View of the River
Looking out of the train window you could look down and see the water in the gorge. It was beautiful, the water so glacier looking!!! S & J
Silverton, Co.
The elevation was up up, you could see snow on many of the tops of mountains which I just loved. I loved that this town still had dirt roads. Felt as though we were still in the wild Wild West!!! S & J
Boarding
Just another view of the train at the train station. They had three of these babies heading to Silverton. Silverton was a tourist town , very old and quiet quaint. S & J
Train
