James and I took a bike ride on a greenway in Knoxville. This is on the back side of the Veterinary buildings and follow the Tennessee river that runs through the campus and meets the French Broad. They had several made floats that supported the planting space for flowers, plants, etc. We came to one spot on this ride that ended in a park, (lots of homeless laying around) and before this spot the water was plugged, backed up, littered, it was disgusting. I say this because it is on the campus of UT. I would think they teach Ecology, Environment, some million classes that would provide a body count that would take pride in this section and get it cleaned up. I was amazed at the sight. You could take a huge net and drag the trash to the shore, rake it up and bag it. If you never get out along creek beds or river beds you won’t see this kind of thing. To me it is an eye opener. Shame on you, UT. S/J
