Ashland Fire

We are just behind the brush on screen side of dirt road. this fire started on Tuesday mid day. I still do not know the cause. It destroyed the town of Talent, and most of Phoenix. Where it started in Ashland is pretty bad too from what we hear. We came back to the farm Wednesday afternoon, Had the roads blocked and Carson had to ride up to let the officer know we were staying at his work farm. They let us through.

Hanging out in the shade, watching some sort of news and watching the sky. Two more fires broke out in central Medford, one closer to us then one might want to be. They had plane after plane flying over dumping the water on them and the color shit they drop. That one was out within 2 hours but drew a huge cloud of smoke. We did not leave. Waking up this morning it is very hazy not smokey like this picture shows. Hopefully we can leave off the premises today. Had all roads blocked yesterday. The greenway we have been riding bikes on is lined with trailer parks, etc. homeless people in tents. from what we have heard on some news stations those are all destroyed. Really sad. Most of these trailer parks were nice ones.

Our highway to Crescent City is shut down and to Crater Lake NP. We are planning to go Monday so hopefully all this will go away.

Thank you for all the comments and well wishes. Welcome back Kathi!!!!

You will catch up!!

Hugs to all,

S & J

  2. So very sad for those homeless and who have just become homeless.
Makes us appreciate what we have.

Since I have never experienced anything like these fires, I really cant imagine how frightening it is.
Would they unblock those highways if the danger gets closer,,,,,,hard to plan your next step.

I pray that you two and Carson stay out of harms way.

    Big hugs,
