Saturday, our last day in Wisconsin, Wendy/Zach took us to a winery to listen to his sister n law sing and the band, we were taken via a 1969 Chevelle convertible and when we finished at the winery they took us to a town that Wendy said had the best old fashions ever!! The place was called Hanson’s Pub. This is Boo the owner/bartender/everything!!! She had just gotten back from a Brewers game as we were walking in. She lives upstairs, it was such a cool place. Couple of tables, beautiful wooden bar with about 10 barstools, and if you look close check out the cash register.
This pub has been there since 1862 and has been owned and run by her family. It started as a brewery, it housed the towns first post office, was an Inn, during prohibition became the ice cream parlor and served as a filling station. A large plague is on the wall that says Pabst Milwaukee which held the title until Pabst won the blue ribbon, hence Pabst Blue Ribbon. In the back room was gaming machines, etc. I will tell you she made the best Old Fashion, I watched and I saw her secret ingredient!!!! It was a very cool send off for James and I. You can google Hansons Pub and see a picture of the outside and get more info. Have a great day!!! S/J
