This park is located outside of Ilwaco Washington, just across the Columbia River from Astoria. It is the headland of the Pacific Northwest and is at the most extreme southwest corner of Washington on the north side of the Columbia River. Yesterday was very foggy so you can’t see the beautiful Pacific Ocean behind the lighthouse. The next picture will show a shot of the ocean breaking against the cliffs that are under this lighthouse. It is a large state park with trails for walking and biking and they have camping available too. We took a couple of the trails to explore more of the area. One side said this area gets over 200 days a year of rain, 100 days of fog and at least 7 feet of rain a year.
Could not imagine that!
