This bridge was beautiful. It connects 2 main islands and when you cross over it is the end of the U P. The bridge is 24 feet shy of 5 miles long. Our ferry driver did a sweep under it and back around. It was way cool. The water was Continue Reading

The flag is the front of this barge. It is coming through the lock (other side) unfortunately it was the other side so we could only see the boat as the water filled into the lock and raised the boat. This particular barge was carrying iron Ore. Most of the Continue Reading

You can see the tour boat in the water. We did not do this tour but it was fun to watch it go in and out of the lock. It is only about a 30 minute tour. You can stand on the platform here and pretty much see all you Continue Reading

This was an awesome time. We drove north to the soo locks. You can see the canal here (lock). When the barges come up the gates open, they cruise in, the water rises so they can get out the other end. It was quite something to see, had not seen Continue Reading

This is the city park in Gladstone. Quite nice along Michigan Lake. They had several bands, food trucks, beer trucks, log rolling contest. James and I rode our bikes to the park and hung out and people watched. It was fun, a day with no rain, that alone was enough. Continue Reading
