We spent 6/3-6/9 in Ulen Minnesota at a beautiful farm with our friends from Yuma. Mary and Dick have retired several years now so Dick does not farm anymore. Mary too, she would do her day job and come home and run a tractor or what ever needed to be done on the farm land. Now they lease out the land to other farmers. This year one of them is going to plant black beans and other areas are already planted with sugar beets. Lots of corn and we saw fields that will be popping with bright yellow sunflowers. That would be magical to see. I told Mary to stand about 6 rows back and let Dick take her picture then send it to me.!! Anyway in this picture the black spot is a black bear. We were on our way back to the house from a town called Flom and of course you take dirt/gravel roads and Mary says, get your phone ready we will see the bear and sure as sugar we did!!. The field he is in was not planted yet. They have had so much rain and wind. From the time we were in Nebraska, SD, ND, and Minnesota we have seen more rain than we have in 4 years. Anyway we had a lovely time with them, I was able to help pick asparagus and radishes. They have a beautiful home garden. The asparagus is so yummy. I am toting 6 one gallon bags to deliver to her sister in Winona, MN. and we will arrive today to stay in that town with Lil and Ric. Anyway, I am hearing thunder so I am guessing a travel day in storms. I think we have already been to OZ twice!!! Take care and have a beautiful day!! S/J
