Now this brings back memories!! When I was in College in Banner Elk, we would come to this waterfall on the weekends and hang out. This is in Elk Park NC. It was just before Roan Mountain Tenn. where we camped those 2 nights. Before we went on our bike ride we drove to the waterfall. I wanted to show James. This is taken from the hike down and on the top of the picture on the right, the person you see is me. Now back in the day we would jump off of these falls. 65 foot jump, yes we were crazy but daring. Only a few people got hurt doing it and as far as we all knew no one died. Now they post signs all over about the slippery rocks, the danger, current, yea we did have one friend jump and he got caught in the current before he could get to the side. He came hiking up the other side about one hour later. He was good, just a little buzzzzzzzzed. Oh the memories. I sent the picture to a couple of hall mates from school and said, “where are we now” , one of them replied back and said…..please don’t reenact the jump!! I laughed, I am too chicken now. It is a beautiful waterfall in NC and they have huge rocks at the bottom to sun in and the water is great. Have a great day!!! S & J
