Construction began on Fort Morgan in 1819. Due to the isolation on Mobile Point it took 15 years to complete. You can google the fort to get all the scoop. It was a big day yesterday going here early and then we took the ferry over to Dauphin Island and rode our bikes around that island. The fort was huge, and we have seen many of these on our travels and it always amazes me how they did the construction of these back in the 1800’s. S & J
