Yesterday I had the most awesome time with my Niece Bess, her husband BoLars, her Mom Beth and 6 of there friends on a bike ride of a lifetime. We road on Going to the Sun road inside of Glacier NP, we were able to get to an area called the Loop before the gate had you stopped. This is a view where we stopped in the parking lot of the loop and the guy in the blue shirt is BoLars, he is searching for BEAR!!! James had to work so he could not go but I will get him on the road this week. They have not allowed cars on this because of the snow conditions as you climb the mountain. Word had it that an avalanche occurred on Thursday evening about 6:30 pm and that is why they had bike traffic stopped at the loop. Three bikers were caught on each side of the avalanche, the one rode down to get help, all were rescued with no injuries. It was a beautiful day as you can tell by the sky, the fellowship was enjoyed by all, and it could not of been any better.
James and I have electric bikes as did many others. Bess borrowed James’s bike since he could not go so her ride may never go back to road bike on this trip!!!! We pedal don’t get me wrong but you do have good assistance. I think our round trip ride was 17 miles. Hope to get further up on the next ride before they open for cars. It was a great day , cold when we started at 7:30 but warmer coming down. What an adventure!! S & J
