So, we managed to score a park permit that started on the 5th and it will be good for seven days. I already made 20 copies of the pass and sold them at the entrance for 5 bucks a piece!!!! JUST kidding but I could/should so do that. We have been here since May 4 and that is the first time I got a pass that isn’t 60 days out. It is one bucked up system they have to get into Glacier NP.
So after my short morning in the kitchen, James and I took off for the park, blew up the Duckie and started paddling across the lake. It is simply a beautiful lake and so so peaceful. We paddled and floated about 3 hours, had a few adult beverages and went for several swims. James tried his luck with the fishing pole but all we had for dinner was veggies, no fish!! Actually it is only catch and release in the lake but still fun for the crazy fishermen!!! James is going into McDonald Creek that flows into Flathead River and will float down with Tony (golf buddy) on Thursday. They will take advantage of another day on the water starting in the park and then we will drive into the park on Friday and take GTSR with the car. Hopefully get too Many Glacier and St.Mary’s. We would love to hike down to Hidden Lake but the word is they have those trails closed for two months while the Grizzly population meanders down to the lake for the trout!!
