These are Mexicali limes. The kind man gave them to us. Limes are yellow, the reason you get green limes in the U.S. is because of all the gasses they put on them. I had no idea that limes were really yellow. This too was very good and sweet and definitely soft and ready. I remember a few years ago in NC every lime I bought or cut or used was hard as a brick, anyone else remember that. Especially in a Mexican Restaurant when you were trying to squeeze a lime in your beer or Margarita, how hard they were. They pick them green and then gas them. Double whammy. So all these trees around us we are thinking they are lemon but they are limes. Some farms around have lemons but not immediately around us.
