This was bad ass! We have never seen anything like this. The dark items you see in the picture are people on motorcycles going wild! This was the biggest set of sand dunes I have ever seen. Must of been 500 people in the parking lots and on the hills, ATV’s, Motto’s, just about anything that would climb in the sand.
When we got to the repair shop we pulled in front of it on the street and unhooked the car. We took off toward the coastal town called Florence. Took about one hour. Funny here driving to the coast, you go through enchanted woods, you see huge mountains in the distance and then the coast. I remember as a kid traveling to Ocean Isle Beach you pass corn fields, tobacco fields, and pretty much nothing! So different but both are way cool in their own way.
We get to this town and came across this road. It was 5.5 miles long and on both sides were these huge sand dunes with people having a large time. We climbed one dune, that will be next picture and then we drove to the end. They had a crab dock, loaded with people crabbing. Chicken legs in the baskets and tied to a long rope. Dungeness crabs, can only keep 12 and they have to be male. They also have to be a certain length, corner to corner on the hard shell. I think it was 10 inches.
Anyway that was our adventure yesterday!
