You can see the stadium behind the dome and below is the Mississippi River. Very murky, muddy, which ever you want to call it. It was funny as you got a little closer to the campus the traffic picked up then you were out of it. We had our first Continue Reading
Mississippi River Bridge
This was a nice bridge driving over the Mississippi River. So much down below, ports, big boats, barges, etc. This is also going into the LSU campus. S & J
Swamp
This bridge was 18.1 miles long and the entire bridge was over a swamp coming into Louisiana. I could look out my window and just see the black water, wondering how many alligators are swimming freely beneath us! All I could think about was back during the construction days of Continue Reading
Beach On Way Out
This is the beach on the other side of the ferry where we arrived. It was a deserted road, 2 lane, with water on both sides. Very choppy because of the winds, it reminded us of riding on Hwy 12 at the OBX (outer banks), except they have huge sand Continue Reading
Ferry
This is what our ferry looked like. This one passed us on our way in to the other side. They have 6 ferries that run 24 hours. It supposedly takes 2 hours off the trip because you do not have to ride all the way back to Houston (thank god) Continue Reading
Submarine
These two boats were on the other side from out ferry ride. It is some kind of park and you could go on the 2 vessels. We did not do this but it was cool to be so close to them. Maybe next time…HAHA Texas is a huge state and Continue Reading
Galveston Sunrise
Last morning in Galveston was quite a sunrise. The park was empty except for maybe 12 other rigs. We were awoken by winds so strong I could never go back to sleep. You could hear the whistle through the 5th wheel and I honestly was expecting to start flying through the Continue Reading
Vessel
We rode to the end of the island here at Galveston. Maybe 1 1/2 miles from our campground. You have the point and to the right is the end of the beach. They have so much construction going on here where we are camping (on the beaches) not sure when Continue Reading
Boardwalk
This so reminded me of Ocean City Md. We rode our bikes down this way. The building is a Bubba Gump eatery and they had quite the crowd on the deck. I feel sure the food is spectacular. We have some of Bubba’s shrimp from Mexico in our freezer so Continue Reading
Crowded Beach
This is nothing compared to the other side of the intersection where we are! We had the pleasure of watching a real dumb bunny trying to get to the beach in his truck (not 4 wheel) and was so stuck, hell he might still be buried in the sand. Will Continue Reading
