This is the horse track. It is actually a hole. Number 7 and 16. Course only has 9 holes so we played it twice. I didn’t do any better the second 9. My swing is gone. You tee off and your second shot will be over the track. A very Continue Reading
Horse Crossing
This is the crossing from one hole to the next. You go over the track and the signs tell you horses have the right of way!! The track is still in operation. Not sure how often they have races, but the barns have like 80 stalls. Cool place. S & Continue Reading
Canyon Breeze
This golf course we played today is on an old race horse track. Reminded me of one we played outside of pine hurst one time. This is the last hole and if you look close enough you can see our RV in the background. We parked and stayed here last Continue Reading
Kimble House
This small cutie was built in the 1890’s. It too is on the Swaner Preserve. At one time the entire farm was lost in a poker game by Andrew Young. His sister was married to a millionaire and when he died she inherited his wealth and saved the family farm. Continue Reading
Swaner Barn
This barn was built in 1933 by Robert Fletcher, he owned and operated Fletcher Farms for 35 years. This is on the property right on 224 which is now part of the preserve . This land is protected from housing or anything else. No construction. It is for wildlife and Continue Reading
Helicopter
Now this was pretty cool. Flying over and over for a bit this helicopter is towing a water bucket or whatever they carry to drop on fires. Mind you, we have no idea where a fire was near where we were or even in the vicinity. Have no idea how Continue Reading
Clubhouse at Soldier Hollow
This building was so cool. They even had women sun visors so they had my vote. I have been looking for a very long time. I DO NOT like the ones that clasp on the back of your head in any way shape or form. I like the ones that Continue Reading
Golf Course View
This is the same one Soldier Hollow, just a different hole. These mountains are massive compared to NC mountains. The course was pretty flat compared to the surrounding mountains. A nice day outing. I think we finished around 6:15 last night and people were still starting a round. Great outdoors Continue Reading
Tate Barn
This barn was on the road on the way to the golf course. Actually across the street from one of the holes (13) and I found it to be interesting. Beautiful wood. And of course the background is incredible. Something about the barns and the covered bridges we have encountered Continue Reading
Soldier Hollow
A fabulous golf course James and I played yesterday (22). Part of the Wasatch State Park. They had 36 holes, cross country ski track on the property, they were training people how to haul ass in a parking lot around orange cones! We figured may be some type of police Continue Reading
