When we left Redmond to come to Medford we passed the Lava monument so we decided to stop. We took the walk about around. It was really kind of cool. Tons of people have lava rocks in their yards and they call this area the molten lands. S & J

James took to the water with his kayak. This was on the last day we were in Bend. He had a nice casual float before the rapids! S & J

The mountains in the picture are the Three Sisters. Sisters is also a town in Oregon, smaller than Bend but just as lovely. The smoke from the California fires puts a bit of a view of them but you get the ides. If you can zoom and get a bigger Continue Reading

This is the river I am sitting by and James is kayaking down. Right now the sides you see are full with people and the rapids on the right draws a crowd of surfers that go back and forth on the waves. Some of them are really good. When I Continue Reading

This was pretty cool. I just dropped James off upstream to kayak/float down the Deschutes River. It runs right through town and it brings tons of people out into the waters. I am sitting down stream where he will arrive in a bit. Trying to catch up with the blog Continue Reading

Hanging out in Bend Oregon today and yesterday. On our bike ride through the park we rode past this fence and it was full of Hops plants. To me they look like artichokes, pretty cool bud/pod. Anyway this is just one. So for all you craft beer drinkers this is Continue Reading

This was way cool, we kept driving past these farms and not knowing what they were we finally found out. Stopped at a produce stand outside of Veneta (RV repair) and got some home grown tomatoes!! First ones this summer and they were/are wonderful. Anyway we asked the lady at Continue Reading

A wonderful park in Eugene Oregon downtown area. Really closer to the Campus of Oregon Ducks!! What a nice campus. The park was huge, went for miles and miles. We road bikes for a few hours and watched the homeless people around their tents. Really sad with so much homelessness. Continue Reading

This was on the other side of the big sand dune we climbed. It was so windy and chilly. You just do not see people swimming in the Pacific like you do in the Atlantic. It is a hoot! A couple of young boys were sand boarding down the dunes. Continue Reading
