This replica was built in 2006. At the end of their westward journey the 33 members of The Corps of Discovery spent 4 months preparing for their return to Missouri. They named this “Fort Clatsop” after the local Clatsop Indians.
You could walk inside the spaces and see how they had it set up. They went by the journals from Lewis to build this replica. They had three big rooms on each die and then the big common area.
Lewis and Clark encountered a lot of bad weather and different circumstances on their journey across America. Signs are all over Oregon and we saw them in South Dakota as well.
