Just a quick view. Every curb was loaded with bikes. You were not allowed to park on the sidewalks. This part you see as you get off the ferry and most of it was quite crowded, as you got a bit more away from the docks the crowd thinned out but it was still very busy. The only thing that was disturbing to me was that you would see kids (I would say between the ages of 8-12) on bikes , flying, weaving in and out of people like they were the only people on the island. No parents around. They were going faster than I would have if I had my throttle hooked up.
A few facts about 2 other posts, I forgot to write. The Arch rock is a natural limestone formation with a span of 50 feet and rises 149 feet above the water. The trail follows the shore line all the way around. Mackinac bridge construction was started May 7 1954 and was opened to traffic on Nov. 1, 1957. just a few fun facts. Have a great day. S/J
